MOUNTAIN BIKING: Fort Harrison State Park

← IN WABASH RIVER PERU IN Single Tracks →

Description

All trails are to be ridden counter clockwise. The Fort Harrison Mountain Bike Trail system is broken down into three trails ranging from easy to advanced. The beginner trail is Camp Glen and is an approx 1 mile loop located on the furthest west section of the trail system. The intermediate trail is called Lawrence Creek trail and is connected to the Camp Glen trail and is approx 3.5m long. The advanced trail is called Schoen Creek and is about 3.5 miles long. You can get to this trail either by taking the connector off the intermediate trail then turn right on Glenn Rd. then left on Trailer Court Rd to Schoen Creek trail. Parts of this trail are built into the sides of hills and have pretty good drop-offs. The trail system is very well maintained and would be a great afterwork ride. Total time for all three trails is about 1 hour. There are three trailheads and all are highlighted on the maps that you can pick up at the park entrance. I rode aprox 9.25 miles which includes the road riding from one trail to another.
